Hydro Geologist

Hydro geologists are interested in the features of underground and surface waters. They utilise advanced scientific equipment and modelling software to determine water cycles and circulation as well as precipitation and water absorption in soil. The findings of hydro geologists may be used to inform the flood and drought management plans of government organisations, to prepare contamination and environmental impact reports for private consultancies, to plan and prepare mine sites in the resource industry and by property developers in the planning process.

Hydro geologists may improve their employment potential by completing post-graduate qualifications though for graduate level positions work experience is also highly regarded.
